Lars Hellsten Glass Globe Vase, Hand Blown, Teal and Ruby Swirled Cased Glass, Orrefors Collection 1989/90, named "Meteor"

This is a remarkable piece of art glass, made in Sweden by renowned glass artist, Lars Hellsten, for the Orrefors Glassworks. On the cover of a special holiday catalog, it was featured as a premium item in the "Orrefors Collection" for the 1989/1990 gift-giving season. The spherical vase has thick swirls of deep ruby red and teal green glass, twisted with air captured between them (like Orrefors Ariel vases), and cased in pure, clear crystal.
