Bengt Edenfalk designed this charming vase in the 1960's. The square form is decorated with two cool owls on a raised and engraved tree. The detail is stunning and the play of light on the polished edges of the motif is exceptional.
This beautiful vase is 5.25" x 2" x 6.5"h, and it weighs 4 pounds, 2 ounces. It is in very good condition, with only minor scratches, not unusual for its age. It is copper-wheel engraved, and signed on its base with the company name, Skruf.
The Skruf Glassworks was founded in 1897 and is still operating today. Bengt Edenfalk was the artistic director at Skruf from 1952 - 1978. Like so much of his work, this design is whimsical and timeless. I have never seen a second one of this style.
