Johansfors 1940s Swedish Small Glass Decanter, Art Deco Woman, Copper Wheel Engraved, Repaired Spout, Perfect Gift

$79.00

Made at Johansfors Glassworks, in the "Crystal Kingdom" of Sweden, this is a lovely little decanter or covered vinaigrette with a small spout. It was engraved by pressing the glass against various spinning copper wheels, covered with a bit of abrasive grit. It is a perfect size for display - 3" in diameter and 9" tall - and it weighs 2 pounds. Because the spout looks like it had been broken off and then repaired, I would not recommend using this for food or beverages.

Johansfors Glasbruk was a Swedish glass maker founded in 1891. The current factory with glassblowing and glass furnaces was built in 1955 at the same place where it began in 1891. Sadly, the factory closed in 2014.

Fun fact: my mother's paternal grandfather came from the town of Johansfors!
