This moose is a typical Swedish theme; nature and animals are very important in Sweden. The vase is very small, 2.5" x 2" x 3.25" and it weighs only 10 ounces. The base is unsigned, and the pontil mark is surprisingly rough, but it is in great condition otherwise.
Heinrich Oppelt, shown in the photo, engraved this miniature vase at Reijmyre Glasbruk, probably in the 1950's. Reijmyre, founded in 1810, is the second oldest glass mill in Sweden, and is still in operation. It was one of about 60 glass companies active throughout the the 20th century, most of which have shut down.
