Peill Crystal Moonline Flowers Vase height 9.5" Large Colorless Vase Engraved on Two Sides with Sprays of Leaves - Stunning!

$199.00

This beautiful, versatile vase, called Moonline Flowers, was made by the German glass company, Peill & Putzler, likely in the 1980's or 90's. Glass from Germany is not my specialty, so I can't tell you a lot. I found out a bit about the company with the help of our friend, Google. Here's what she came up with:

Peill & Son was established in 1903, and in 1947, it merged with Putzler, another prominent German glass maker. Putzler, the older of the companies, dates back to 1869. Peill & Putzler worked with important designers of the period, including Wilhelm Wagenfeld (1900-1990) from the Bauhaus. Beginning in 1970, their acid etched signature became a back-to-back 'P' like the one on this piece. In 2004, the company went out of business.

This vase is in excellent vintage condition, with no more than a few small scratches. It's big: 5.5" x 3" at the rim and 9.5" tall, and it weighs about 6 pounds. It looks like the leaves are either acid etched or sandblasted and the stems are wheel-cut. As you see, it is quite lovely with the sun shining through it, and I'm sure it would be magnificent filled with holiday greens and berries or early-spring flowering branches. This special vase would make a lovely gift or a wonderful accent for your holiday home décor.
